Job Title:Physician,
Supervisor: Dr. Mario Larriategui
During a National Neurologic Survey it was found that Azuero is one of the areas with higher incidence of Multiple Sclerosis in Panama. In conjunction with other three physicians from the area, as founding members, we have started the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic. Our work as general practice physicians under the supervision of neurologists is to gather information related to each patient with multiple sclerosis. The information is obtained meeting the patient, using clinical history, physical exams and laboratory data (MRI, CSF studies). This information is submitted for the creation of a database to direct activities of research and treatment. The information gathered is integrated with a multidisciplinary team effort to improve the management of these patients.
